We wrapped up our inquiry into Who We Are with a discussion on our own rights after we watched a short clip by BBC on the displaced Rohingya children. It was easy to count the rights that these children have lost and we we were reminded of our good fortune.
We applied our knowledge of the UN Charter of rights for children to make a charter of rights for ourselves to do the best we can at home. Here are some examples:
In Literacy, we reviewed our work and made some goals based on the Six traits of writing. Each student developed her/his own goals and identified what he/she would do to achieve this goal.
We will review these goals in a month's time to see if we need to set new goals or work some more on current ones.
In Math, we wrapped up our inquiry into place value and strategies to add and subtract three digit numbers and launched into investigating data handling. We will focus on collecting, organizing and interpreting data.
This week we did very well on showing cooperation with each other to work on tasks in class. In addition, some of us were reflective about our actions and developed plans to work cooperatively with each other. Excellent job grade 3.2!
