After we had deconstructed the central idea and broken down the big concepts such as what are living things, (and what is not a living thing) what is dependence, survival, environment, the students of G3.1 and 3.2 worked in collaboration to generate new ideas that were connected to the central idea.
They worked on their listening and thinking skill to generate and discuss new ideas.
Next they had to show how these ideas were connected.
Finally, the students developed questions to further explore ideas.
Finally, they sorted their questions along a continuum - most important to the least.
These questions are on the wall now and will be used for further inquiry next week.
