Maths has been lots of fun as we have started to look into what gives a number its value.
We started with using base ten blocks to understand and construct numbers.
What does 6 ones really looks like?
What do 7 tens look like?
We constructed the largest numbers we could using base ten blocks.
Then we looked at different ways to represent a given number.
For example, 256 can be 2 hundreds and 56 ones, or 256 ones, or 25 tens and 6 ones ... the possibilities are many based on our understanding of place value
Then some of us created mystery numbers to solve

Building our reading skills by learning to read to someone during daily 5
LIAM: I love to read to someone because I get to hear other people read to me.
Axel - reading to some one is just fun!!
Haruto - its fun! we can trade books, or read one book together. I liked reading with Rintaro.
Fatima: its fun because we can share our feelings about a book... tell a friend what we like about the book.
Odrita: I like it because you can talk about your favourite part of a book, but I prefer to read to self.
Rintaro: reading to some one is fun because I can learn new words.
HERE WE ARE, SITTING ELBOW TO ELBOW, KNEE TO KNEE!
